Pet Depot Group Class Terms, Conditions and Refund Policy

Group Class Booking Policies

REFUND POLICY

Purchase of this course is non refundable.
If you need to stop attending for any reason, credit for the remaining balance of unattended classes can be applied to other products offered from Darya’s dog training such as private training sessions. The remaining balance can also be applied towards the purchase of a new course.

TRANSFER POLICY

It's ok to give your purchase to someone else.

If you or your dog have purchased the course and end up not being able to attend at all, the purchase may be transferred/gifted to another dog/owner.  Please contact Darya’s Dog Training immediately for assistance with that.

ARRIVAL TIME

Please try to arrive 15 minutes before the start of class.

This will allow you to walk around outside for decompression with the dog, giving both of you the opportunity to relax and prepare for the class. Remember if you begin to feel rushed or frustrated, your dog will feel the same!

WHERE TO MEET

In the back of the building!

There is limited parking directly behind Pet Depot. There is also parking near the businesses that run along Emerald Ave. There is grass along the sidewalk for your dog to do their decompression sniffs before walking to the back of the building.

LATE ARRIVALS

Send us a text!

Let us know you're on your way. If you are going to be late, please still come to class.  Darya will be happy to stay a little later and catch you up.

MISSED CLASSES

Missed classes cannot be made up.

However, we will send you the syllabus for the class you missed on that day. And if you arrive early at the next class, Darya can do a quick recap and practice with you and your dog.

IF YOUR DOG IS SICK/INJURED

Do NOT come to class.

Stay home if they are experiencing any of these symptoms:
Coughing, Hacking, Sneezing, Vomiting, Nasal Congestion, Diarrhea or if they are on antibiotics.

Stay home if they have a limp, are shaking their head excessively from possible ear infection or have any other medical discomfort.
All Dogs attending this course must be fully vaccinated and be flea, tick and worm free.

If your dog is feeling better by the next class, please try to arrive early and Darya will work with you to recap and practice what was missed.
If your dog has an extended illness/injury that lasts several classes, you will need to drop out of the course.

IF INSTRUCTOR IS SICK/UNABLE TO ATTEND

The class will be rescheduled and you will not lose a class session.

WEATHER

If it's really bad for us we will reschedule.
There is a small possibility that classes could be canceled due to things like excessive rain, heat or smoke pollution. If there is not an option to move the class to an indoor area, the class will be rescheduled.  You will not lose the class.

DRESS CODE

Dress to work and train.

No open toed shoes/sandals. You will be moving around often inside a store, a backroom training area, and an outdoor parking lot. Please dress appropriately.

MATERIALS TO BRING

-Water for both you and your dog
-A mat for them to do place work with and lay on. (tip: an old yoga mat works great, just cut it to size.)
-Treats: Low Value (Kibble) Medium Value (Training treats) High Value (Fresh, ie. Boiled Chicken Breast)
-A way to securely leash your dog such as: A Slip Lead, a Martingale Collar, A Gentle Leader or a Harness.
(Standard Collars that attach to clip leads are NOT permitted, they are too easy to escape from if the dog becomes excited.)
-If you feel more secure by having your dog wear a muzzle, they are allowed.
-LEASHES LONGER THAN 6 FEET ARE NOT ALLOWED.

WHO CAN COME

Just you please!

Space in the store is limited, so we are also limiting each dog to only having one human during the course.  Each dog must have the SAME dedicated handler for the entire course.

CLASS ETIQUETTE

-Do not introduce your dog to the other dogs during the class.

-Maintain a minimum of 5 feet of distance between your dog and other dogs in the class, or dogs visiting the store, at all times.

-Do not interact with dogs in the class other than your own. (Petting, talking, encouraging them to sniff you etc) as this serves as too big a distraction.

-Please be mindful of cross talk during lessons and instructions so everyone can hear and learn from Darya equally. (Being calm and mostly quiet in a very exciting area can be a wonderful example for your dog).
